The event, organized by the "Scientific center of obstetrics, gynecology and Perinatology named after academician V. I. Kulakov", all-Russian public organization of assistance to development of neonatology "Russian society of neonatologists," the all-Russian public organization "Federation of anesthesiologists and resuscitation specialists", and was held with the support of the Ministry of health of the Russian Federation.

Chronology of the Congress traces back to 2008, when the initiative group of the project was headed by Professor Elena Baybarina. Today a team of researchers from the "Scientific center of obstetrics, gynecology and Perinatology named after academician V. I. Kulakov", including Professor Dmitry Degtyaryov, doctor of medical sciences Aleksey Pyregov, employs over elaboration of the scientific program under the supervision of the Director of the center, academician Gennady Sukhikh.

Today official statistics show a record number of participants: 1863 specialists (among them: 1327 doctors, 87 nurses-anesthetists and 250 nurses of the neonatal profile) from 182 cities, 75 regions of Russia and 17 countries, including Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Hungary, Israel, Canada, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Moldova, Netherlands, USA, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Switzerland and Japan. 233 speakers and members of the organizing Committee gave scientific and educational lectures and discussions on key aspects of the event: anesthesiology, resuscitation, intensive care, neonatology, obstetrics and gynecology, transfusion medicine and related disciplines.

At the Opening ceremony of the Congress the Presidium was attended by the such renowned scientists who had taken part in creation of the national intensive care and founding of the profession, as: academician, President of RASPM Nikolay Volodin, academician Armen Buniatyan, and iconic person in the profession – Professor Leonid Tsypin.

Renowned scientists, experts, among which G. Sukhikh, D. Degtyarev, A. V. Pirogov, D. Ivanov, D.  Zabolotskaya, S. Pismenskaya, O. Baev, I. Molchanov, G. Filippovich, V. Zubkov, I. Ryumina, N. Tetruashvili, R. Shmakov, N. Kang, O. Pekarev, V. Tyutyunnik, O. Mikhailova, O. Ionov, M. Degtyareva, A. Kirtbaia, A. Mostovoy, G. Bychenko, E. Bockeria, A. Razumovsky, E.  Dorofeeva, Y. Todorovska, A. Konoplyannikov, A. Mokrushina, and many others shared their knowledge and experience with a highly motivated audience of the Congress for three days.

Actual reports of research teams from St. Petersburg, Moscow, Cheboksary, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Tyumen, Kazan, Samara, Omsk, Kaluga, Chelyabinsk, Voronezh, Yaroslavl, Petrozavodsk, Rostov-on-Don, Arkhangelsk, N. Novgorod, as well as the variety of parallel educational and practical formats in the form of meetings (11), round tables (2), schools (25), symposia (3), medical training (8), master classes, interactive debates provided the scientific event saturation.

Some significant contribution to the content of the scientific program made by scientists teams from USA, Canada, Japan, Lithuania, Switzerland, Hungary, the Netherlands, Turkey, Israel.

An integral part of the Congress is the annual exhibition, which includes more than three dozen (34) leading domestic and foreign companies-manufacturers of medical equipment and pharmaceuticals.

Thus, the all-Russian educational Congress, acting as a significant medical scientific and practical site, acts as a link among the latest technologies, innovative developments and practitioners.
