On December 14, the 18th Congress of Russian Infectious Diseases of Russia with international participation “Actual Issues of Infectious Pathology and Vaccine Prevention” ended.

Scientific directions were examined during the Congress: modern methods of treatment and prevention of acute respiratory viral infections and influenza in children, difficulties in the diagnosis and treatment of herpesvirus infections in children, new approaches in the treatment of viral hepatitis, difficult clinical cases in the management of infectious patients, prevention of perinatal transmission HIV infections for children, parasitoses and many other acute issues of infectious diseases.

The Congress program also included two master classes (with interactive simulation training): basic and extended cardiopulmonary resuscitation in pediatrics (ILCOR) and diagnosis, tactics and management of patients with urgent conditions (BLS, PALS).

V.F. Uchaikin, President of the Association of Pediatric Infectious Diseases, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor points out the special value of the event: «The eradication and significant reduction in the prevalence of many diseases observed today are a consequence of the achievements of foreign and domestic science. From these positions, our Congress, with the participation of scientists from many countries, contributes to solving immediate problems in the field of infectology, sharing experience, implementing professional consolidation, strengthening and developing professional ties between specialists in the treatment and prevention of infectious diseases».
