During the opening ceremony of the Forum, the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation made a speech. Mikhail Murashko greeted the participants and presented a report in which he noted that in recent years the world began to change too quickly, therefore the main task of the healthcare system is to adapt to these changes in a timely manner and look for new solutions:

«And the challenge is not only in saving lives and not only in preserving health - the challenge is that the entire health care system must adapt. There are big plans and hopes for the obstetrics and gynecology industry, because life expectancy is largely determined by the health of the newborn and the health of the pregnant woman».

Also, Mikhail Murashko personally presented state awards to medical workers for their great contribution to the fight against coronavirus infection and dedication in the performance of their professional duty.

Then the director of the FSBI "National Medical Research Center for Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology named after Academician V.I. Kulakov ”of the Ministry of the Russian Federation Gennady Sukhikh spoke about the achievements of the Center during the COVID-19 pandemic; topical issues facing specialists in the field of obstetrics, gynecology and perinatology; focused on national programs, and also thanked all those present for their participation in the Forum and striving for development:

«We are grateful to you, because without your help, without your support and understanding, the National Center would be ineffective. We understand the difficulties doctors in Moscow and the regions face. Therefore, I have an absolute understanding of how our people live, what specific mission the representatives of our wonderful profession fulfill. Thank you on behalf of our three thousandth team for this amazing help and I address with prayer and hope that this style will continue».

The head of the Federal Service for Surveillance in Healthcare Alla Samoilova spoke about the complexity of managing pregnant women and women in labor during the COVID-19 pandemic, about the reforms of medical institutions, thanks to which they managed to cope with these difficulties, and also gave instructions to colleagues.

On the first day of the scientific and educational event, numerous thematic sessions were held on the most important and topical issues in the field of obstetrics, gynecology and perinatology.
