The 14th Moscow Course under the auspices of RASUDM "Current Issues of Ultrasound Diagnostics in Maternal and Fetal Medicine" was held in Moscow

From May 26 to 28, the 14th Moscow Course under the auspices of RASUDM, titled "Current Issues of Ultrasound Diagnostics in Maternal and Fetal Medicine," took place in Moscow as part of the XVIII All-Russian Forum with International Participation "Medical Diagnostics — 2026."

Over the three days of the event, approximately 400 leading specialists from Russia and abroad in the fields of fetal neurosonography, prenatal diagnostics, and gynecological ultrasound diagnostics participated. The program included a school on fetal neurosonography and a section on gynecological ultrasound diagnostics. Within these, 38 scientific reports were presented, three "Questions & Answers" sessions were held under the moderation of leading and recognized experts, four masterclasses with live scanning on deep endometriosis were conducted, and two satellite symposia took place. Presentations of the consensus statements from the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISUOG) for 2025–2026 held a special place in the program.

The fetal neurosonography school covered the diagnosis of central nervous system anomalies in early screening, transvaginal neurosonography with ISUOG techniques and recommendations, anomalies of the midline brain structures, the vein of Galen, and the posterior cranial fossa, as well as the application of artificial intelligence in the diagnosis of CNS anomalies.

The gynecological ultrasound diagnostics section included the 2026 ISUOG consensus on ultrasound assessment of the endometrium, the diagnosis of deep infiltrative endometriosis with live scanning, and the ultrasound diagnosis of ovarian neoplasms.

The event was attended by both Russian experts and international specialists, including R.S. Bataeva, E.S. Nekrasova, L.A. Chugunova, T.A. Yarygina, O.A. Samsonova, M.A. Esetov, D.N. Lyashchenko, O.L. Malmberg, I.A. Ozerskaya, R.A. Barto, M.N. Bulanov. Professor Ritsuko Pu (Japan) presented two reports, and Professor Karina Nina Haratz (Israel) delivered three reports.

The course confirmed the high level of scientific and practical expertise and the relevance of the discussed topics, demonstrating significant interest from the professional community in modern approaches to ultrasound diagnostics in maternal and fetal medicine. The presented reports, masterclasses, and ISUOG consensus recommendations contributed to the unification of clinical practice, the expansion of participants' professional competencies, and the implementation of advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence methods. International participation and interdisciplinary dialogue underscored the importance of the course as an authoritative educational and scientific platform, fostering the development of prenatal and gynecological diagnostics in Russia and beyond.
