The IX International Congress "Balneotherapy in Sanatorium-Resort Treatment and Medical Rehabilitation Programs," timed to coincide with World Water Day, has completed its work. This annual industry event serves as a platform for exchanging best practices, integrating scientific knowledge and practical activities, and fostering interdisciplinary cooperation in the field of sanatorium-resort treatment and the use of natural healing resources.
Over two days, the Congress was attended by 668 specialists from 52 constituent entities of the Russian Federation and 9 countries. Experts from Belarus, Italy, Kazakhstan, Cuba, Portugal, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Switzerland shared their international experience.
The Congress became an open international platform for discussing significant issues among all stakeholders: the state, international partners, scientific, educational, medical, sanatorium-resort, and tourism communities, commercial organizations, and manufacturers in the field of medical and rehabilitation equipment.
Natalia Zubareva, Director of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "National Medical Research Center for Rehabilitation and Balneology" of the Ministry of Health of Russian Federation, stated in her welcoming address:
"Undoubtedly, natural healing resources are the main value of sanatorium-resort treatment and are also actively used in medical rehabilitation. Based on the current trend of demand for these types of medical care, focusing on the protection and evidence-based effectiveness of natural factors will allow sanatorium-resort and medical rehabilitation to contribute to achieving the national goal of preserving the country's population! And our Congress today is also a step in this direction."
