From 28 to 30 June 2017 in the city-resort of Gelendzhik, in the halls of "Kempinski Grand Hotel" the X Anniversary of regional scientific-educational forum "Mother and Child" and the Plenum of the Russian society of obstetricians-gynecologists under the leadership of academician RAS Sukhih G.T. and academician RAS Serov V.N. started. The event continued the procession of commemorative events during 2017 by a leader of domestic medicine, "Scientific center of obstetrics, gynecology and perinatology named after academician V. I. Kulakov". Having had an impressive path through the regions of the country, this year the Forum returned to Gelendzhik again.

The forum occupies a special place and serves as an important scientific and educational site, which from year to year becomes a productive link in the chain of dialogue between regions and the scientific centre: reports, discussions, collaborative solutions help to gradually and effectively build strong relationships, centralized principal of the research center and regional medical institutions. Every year the forum has a key theme. This year it is devoted to the problem of extragenital pathology in obstetrics and gynecology.

According to official statistics, 890 specialists took part in the X Anniversary regional forum who presented 6 countries (Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Ukraine) and 96 cities. Domestic participants presented 44 subjects of the Russian Federation, the most numerous among which were the delegation of Krasnodar region, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Rostov region, Stavropol region and Moscow district.

The forum set a high scientific level. Owing to the fundamental research program, "Mother and Child-2017" is recognized as one of the most successful by experts. Scientific program of the event focuses on increasing importance of extragenital pathology in maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality. However, the topics diverse and cover a wide spectrum of topical problems of modern obstetrics, gynecology, gynecological oncology, the consideration of which put on the agenda of the plenary and breakout sessions (9), round tables (17), workshops (11), clinical debriefings, schools, workshops and over 150 presentations. The constant build-up within the obstetric Forum vector neonatology, intensive care and nursing of children is very important, because the quality of medical care depends on the skills of specialists. K., Prof. Uvarova E.V. and many other speakers at the forum, the participants plunged into a three-day flow of experience and knowledge of the brilliant galaxy of scholars and practitioners of our time. A significant contribution to the implementation of the Scientific program were made by the regional groups of scientists, who presented Kazan, Krasnodar, Cheboksary, Stavropol, Astrakhan, Rostov-on-don, Saratov, Ivanovo, Volgograd, Voronezh, Saransk, Yekaterinburg, Izhevsk, Orenburg, Tyumen, Novosibirsk, Sochi, Kursk.
