New year – New Congress – New Congress President!

Dear colleagues and friends!

For the first time in the country, starting the work on the creation of a new national platform for the communication of specialists in radiation diagnosis in 2007, we set ourselves strict objectives – a scientific and educational event should involve the specialists representing various modalities of radiodiagnosis, a consistently high educational level of the events should be maintained, and the annual turnover of Presidents should be ensured.

Our next National Congress “Radiology 2016” which will be held in the framework of the forum “Medical diagnostics 2016” on May 24–26, and this will be the jubilee, the 10th Congress! And I am glad to state that all the objectives are being carried out in full!

It is pleasant to remember how much importance the country officials gave to the creation of a scientific and educational forum, which had set itself the objective to unite the efforts of diagnosticians for mutual learning, to raise the level of training for young professionals, to start a real continuation training for radiologist, radiologists, specialists in ultrasound diagnostics, and clinicians. Learning to “learn” from each other, to hear each other and understand each other! The Russian Deputy Minister of Health Academician V.I. Starodubov opened our first Congress.

Famous European radiologists Maximilian Reiser and Nicholas Gurtsoyanis made presentations the Congress.

The first honorary awards – “Professor Yu.N. Sokolov Honorary Sign” were received by our outstanding domestic experts – Professor Leonid Davidovich Lindenbraten, Academician of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences Alexander Sergeevich Pavlov and Professor Igor Petrovich Koroljuk.

Finally, at the first Congress in 2007, we received congratulations and the best wishes from the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin.

I believe that we have fully met the planned expectations.

Time goes on. The Congress of radiodiagnosticians, in which 1,100 people participated in 2007, grew into the Forum which involves the Congress of radiodiagnosticians, Moscow International Course under the auspices of ISUOG and RASUDM, scientific and practical conference of interventional oncoradiologists, All-Russian Conference “Functional Diagnostics”, symposium “Management in Medical Diagnosis” and the annual plenum of the Russian Association of Radiology (RAR).

Within the last 3 years, the number of participants is never less than 3,500 professionals. And in the record year of 2014, the Forum and the Congress were attended by 3,991 people!

Well, time goes on. Preparation for the next Forum is starting.

Meetings and schools on popular issues will be held at the Forum. Our veterans and honored scientists will be awarded prizes and valuable gifts. We will attend the lectures by the winners of the young scientists contest, watch the poster session, which was first organized in 2015 and gained popularity immediately. In short, we are looking forward to the interesting lectures by domestic and foreign scientists and unforgettable meetings with friends and colleagues whom we have not seen for long.

Manufacturers of diagnostic equipment, consumables and contrast agents play an important role in the Forum and the Congress. It would be difficult to hold such a large-scale event without their active help and support. It is appropriate to remember that the famous company Siemens was the General Sponsor of the first Congress, and that it has set the bar high to support our endeavors!

Like 10 years ago, the objective of the scientific and educational Forum with international participation “Medical Diagnostics 2016” is to unite the experts of different modalities, to combine teaching and practice, to combine the efforts of equipment manufacturers and doctors who use this equipment.
