SUMMARY OF THE REGIONAL FORUM “MOTHER AND CHILD”
Over the past few years, this event has remained one of the most significant and reputable regional events that facilitates communication between doctors and specialists in the areas of obstetrics, gynecology and perinatology.
Within a framework of the event, a plenary session of OB/GYNs of Russia took place; during this session, special attention was given to issues of prevention and treatment of oncopathologies in obstetrics and gynecology; in addition, outcomes of pregnancies in women with oncological diseases were discussed.
The scientific progamme was very diverse; the following topics were discussed: modernization of health care system, main trends of reducing morbidity and mortality among mothers and infants, innovations in diagnosis and treatment of main pregnancy complications, oncological diseases in obstetrics and gynecology, prevention of oncological diseases, oncofertility, preservation of reproductive function in oncological patients, management of pregnancy in oncological patients, including cancer of reproductive organs, effects of chemotherapy and radiation on foetal and infant development, premature deliveries, infant intensive therapy and reanimation at the modern stage, prenatal development as the base of overall health, sexually transmitted diseases, perspectives of auxiliary reproductive technology development, molecular-genetic research in perinatal medicine, interdisciplinary problems in obstetrics and gynecology, abortions safety, improvement of education of OB/GYNs and neonatologists.
According to the official statistics, 766 specialists from 8 countries participated in the forum, among these countries were Abkhazia, Armenia, Belarus, Italy, Poland, Russia, Ukraine and France. Domestic delegates represented 110 cities and 55 federal subjects.
The forum was accompanied by an exhibition with 31 participating companies. Among main trends, presented at the exhibition, were the following: medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, comprehensive equipping of healthcare facilities, specialized in vitro fertilization centers, diagnostic and surgical equipment, prophylactic diet, etc.
Delegates had an opportunity to find out more about specialized literature that was presented in the press zone of the exhibition.
The event was organized by The Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, FSBI ”V.I. Kulakov Research Centre for Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology” of The Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Russian Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and Congress-operator OOO «MEDI Expo».
