Today, on December 8, the XIV Russian Scientific and Practical conference with international participation «Medicine and Quality – 2021», which was held in a hybrid format, ended.

Mikhail Murashko, Minister of Health of the Russian Federation, in his greeting announced the Conference program and noted the importance of striving for continuous improvement of the quality of healthcare organization:

«Medical workers have always experienced high loads. The last two years have been particularly difficult. I can say that by all indications, the Russian healthcare system has withstood. And although the issues of providing assistance for a new coronavirus infection are still in the first place, it is necessary to look to the future and move forward to achieve national goals, the first of which is to preserve the health and well-being of people».

Alla Samoilova, Head of the Federal Service for Supervision of Healthcare, in her report at the plenary session considered the main issues facing healthcare today. She also recalled the burden on the healthcare system imposed by the situation with COVID-19:

«We are living today in difficult years – the years of the pandemic. Therefore, the search for new ways to provide medical care in these difficult conditions, of course, imposes certain obligations and responsibilities on us, since no one has removed the tasks that have been set for us».

In the scientific work of the Conference, key figures of domestic and foreign healthcare, as well as leading experts in various medical fields discussed priority topics:

• «New coronavirus infection COVID-19: lessons of the pandemic»
• «Epidemiological safety as a basic requirement for ensuring the quality and safety of medical activities»
• «Digitalization of healthcare in Russia»
• «State policy in the sphere of health protection of citizens of the Russian Federation»
• «Priorities for the development of primary health care»

And many others.

A traditional award ceremony was also held within the framework of the Award «For the quality and safety of medical activities», and the results of the Russian competition «Quality Leader in Healthcare» were announced.
