On November 11, 2021, the Congress on gynecological endocrinology began its work

Today, November 11, 2021, the Russian scientific and practical Congress "Gynecological endocrinology in the age aspect: problems and solutions" began in an online format.

During the opening ceremony of the Congress, the director of the National Medical Research Center for Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology named after Academician V.I. Kulakov of Ministry of Health of Russia. Gennadiy Sukhikh greeted the participants, announced the extensive topics of the scientific program and noted the interdisciplinary nature of the discussions, covering 14 areas of medicine. In his report, he spoke about the first robot-assisted operations that were carried out at the Center in early November this year, as well as about the role of a medical institution in educational activities:

"The Center has many missions, but one of the main ones is the transfer of modern technologies to all 85 regions, because we are the leading institution in this specialty, it is writing clinical guidelines and, of course, staffing"

The leaders of the Congress presented reports on the main topics of the event:

Antonina Smetnik in her speech spoke about the symptoms of menopause in women, focusing on the possibilities and importance of menopausal hormone therapy:

"I believe that through joint efforts we can improve the quality and life expectancy of women, including through menopausal hormone therapy"

Galina Chernukha devoted her presentation to new clinical guidelines in the diagnosis and treatment of hormone-associated diseases of the reproductive system. Particular attention was paid to the most common diseases with which patients are admitted: amenorrhea and oligomenorrhea, polycystic ovary syndrome, endometriosis, uterine fibroids, endometrial hyperplasia, abnormal uterine bleeding and others.

Svetlana Yureneva presented new clinical guidelines for menopause and management of patients in menopause. She also drew the attention of specialists to the fact that recommendations are not only professional training, but also legal protection, since from January 1, 2022, according to Federal Law 489-FZ, medical care should be provided only in accordance with the procedures for providing medical care based on clinical recommendations.

On the first day of the scientific and educational event in 3 virtual rooms, thematic sessions were held on the most important and topical issues in the field of gynecological endocrinology:

  • "Hormone-associated diseases of the organs of the reproductive system: present and future"
  • "Gynecological endocrinology. A new look at the principles of therapy"
  • "Facts about hormonal contraception. Changing the look at the problem"
  • "Late parenting"
  • "Amenorrhea of various origins: from diagnosis to modern therapeutic approaches"
  • "Endometriosis: from basic scientific research to modern clinical practice"
  • "Diseases of the mammary gland in the practice of a gynecologist: prevention, diagnosis, treatment, correction of complications of therapy"

According to preliminary statistics, today more than 3 thousand specialists from 22 countries, 430 cities, 82 constituent entities of the Russian Federation have joined the online broadcast.
