Yu.N. Sokolov prize for young scientists for the best research paper in radiation diagnostics

Acceptance of scientific papers is completed on August 1, 2020.

1. General Provisions

1.1. To identify and support talented young researchers, to promote the professional growth of scientific youth, to encourage the creative activity of young scientists in conducting research, the Russian National Congress of X-ray Diagnosticians and Physicians once a year awards professor Yu.N. Sokolov prize to young scientists for the best research paper on radiation diagnostics.

1.2. The competition for the prize for young scientists is held in the section “Radiation Diagnostics”.

1.3. For the award of a prize to young scientists, research papers performed by the authors themselves are accepted. The authors of research papers that took 1, 2 and 3 places are awarded with diplomas of degree 1, 2 and 3 laureates.

1.4. Prizes for the best research paper are valuable gifts. The paper winning the first place will be considered for publication in the form of an article in the “Russian Electronic Journal of Radiation Diagnostics (REJR)”, which is included in the list of peer-reviewed scientific journals of the Higher Attestation Commission of Russia and indexed in the Scopus database.

1.6. The deadline for accepting research papers is August 1, 2020.

2. The procedure for the nomination and execution of papers for the Yu.N. Sokolov prize for young scientists

2.1. Young scientists are nominated for scientific awards, contributing to the development of scientific knowledge, distinguished by originality in the formulation and solution of scientific problems related to the section “Radiation diagnostics” (radiologic method, computed and magnetic resonance imaging, radionuclide diagnostics, interventional radiology, ultrasound and functional diagnostics).

2.2. For the prize for young scientists, papers are nominated that are performed by scientific and other young employees, residents, graduate students and doctoral students of institutions and organizations of the Ministry of Health, RAS, universities, research and medical institutions, as well as other medical organizations under the age of 30 years inclusive at the time of submission of the paper to the competition.

  • Scientific papers must be submitted to the competition by one author and are drawn up in accordance with the requirements set forth in paragraphs 2.3
  • Manuscripts of dissertations are not accepted.
  • Papers previously awarded State Prizes, Prizes of the Government of the Russian Federation, as well as prizes and medals of the RAS are not accepted for the competition a prize for young scientists.

2.3. Each paper nominated for a prize for young scientists must meet REJR requirements.

3. The procedure for reviewing papers and approving the results of the competition

3.1. Papers submitted for the award for young scientists are evaluated by the Expert Commission after a preliminary review, design and systematization.

3.2. The Expert Commission for the Yu.N. Sokolov Prize consists of:

3.3. The expert commission is authorized to make decisions if more than half of its nominal members takes part in the vote. The decision of the expert commission shall be deemed adopted if it receives more than two-thirds of the votes of the number of voting members of the commission

3.4. The expert commission makes decision by secret or open ballot. The ballot for secret ballot includes papers selected by the expert commission.

3.5. Voting is held for all papers simultaneously. A member of the expert commission can vote not more than for one work entered on the ballot or put to an open vote. Note. A ballot without marks or with the marks “recommending” more than one paper is considered invalid.

3.6. If during the voting none of the candidates received more than two thirds of the number of voted members of the expert commission present, the commission has the right to revote only once, indicating this in the protocol. Papers received more than one third of the votes of the members of the expert commission during the first ballot may be included in the ballot for re-voting.

3.7. The decision of the Expert Commission on awarding prizes for young scientists for the best research paper in the section “Radiation Diagnostics” is published on the official website of the Congress (www.radiology-congress.ru).

4. Ceremony of awarding Diploma of the Young Scientists Prize

4.1. Winners of the Yu.N. Sokolov Prize for young scientists receive standard diplomas.

4.2. The prize is awarded to the laureates of the contest at the closing plenary meeting “Radiology” Russian National Congress of X-Ray Diagnosticians and Physicians.
